Ramona Convent School’s Third Annual Applicant’s Tea
On Sunday, February 22nd, the Holy Family Room at Ramona Convent was transformed by a fantastic team of Student Ambassadors and their mothers into a beautiful tea room for the 3rd Annual Applicants’ Tea. In celebration of Ramona’s 125th birthday, the party-like atmosphere created an especially grand celebration. All applicants for the fall of 2015 brought with them a Remarkable Woman in their lives.
Mr. Francois Laborie, Theology teacher and Retreat Coordinator, Mr. John Bonar, Theology teacher, Ramona Ambassador Moms, Ambassadors, and members of the Culinary Club did an amazing job in the kitchen preparing and serving various tea sandwiches, assorted pastries, cream puffs, and scones with lemon cream paired with a wide selection of exotic teas. Ms. Ruth Ballenger, Music teacher, and her student ringers dazzled the audience with an amazing mini-performance. Following their performance, musician Samantha Bordador ’15 serenaded them with lovely melodies on the piano.
Student Ambassadors were looking sharp wearing floral tea hats and pretty spring dresses. They shared stories with our guests about their experience as “Ramona Girls” and encouraged others to “choose Ramona.” Featured student speaker Kathleen Ngo ’18 talked about the many co-curricular and academic opportunities that she has found at Ramona as well as the bond of sisterhood that will last a lifetime. Everyone in attendance had a fantastic time and really felt the spirit of our community…..the Ramona family. It was truly a festive occasion and celebration!
