A fire blamed on an electrical malfunction damaged a Pasadena home early Sunday, leaving eight people displaced, authorities said.

The fire was first reported shortly before 7 a.m. at a house in the 300 block of Barthe Drive, according to Pasadena spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.

Firefighters made quick work of the fire, which remained confined to the home’s attic, she said.

No injuries were reported, but the home’s eight residents, including two children, were displaced as a result of the fire, Derderian said.

They made their own arrangements for temporary lodging, and Red Cross assistance was not needed, she added.
