Senator Holly Mitchell Endorses Phlunte’ Riddle for State Senate

Phlunte’ Riddle, candidate for the 25th State Senate District, has been endorsed by State Senator Holly Mitchell, announced the Riddle campaign.

“Phlunte’ is just the leader we need in the State Senate. She is a tenacious change agent and a fierce advocate for her community. I am proud to endorse Phlunte’ and look forward to working with her,” said Senator Mitchell.

Senator Holly Mitchell joins Senator Connie Leyva, Senator Isadore Hall, III, Assemblymember Jim Cooper, and the Pasadena Police Officers Association in supporting Phlunte’ Riddle for State Senate.

Mitchell represents the State Senate’s 30th District. First elected to the Assembly in 2010, she has spent her legislative career focusing on policies that meet the needs of working families. Prior to elected office, she was the chief executive officer of Crystal Stairs, championing family-focused policymaking.

“I am thrilled to have Senator Holly Mitchell’s endorsement. I admire her strong commitment to improving the lives of California’s children and families,” said Riddle. “I look forward to working with her throughout this campaign and in the State Senate.”

Riddle resides in Pasadena with her husband of 36 years and is the mother of three adult sons. Riddle spent nearly 29 years rising through the ranks of the Pasadena Police Department, breaking barriers as the first woman to be permanently assigned as a gang/street narcotics officer and the first African American female sergeant and lieutenant. She retired as a lieutenant, where she was the Public Information Officer & Adjutant to the Chief of Police.

Riddle is an adjunct professor at Golden West College and owns a consulting company, where she trains executives and helps solve communications challenges in organizations.

The 25th State Senate District encompasses the communities of Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale, Bradbury, Claremont, Duarte, Glendora, La Cañada-Flintridge, La Verne, Monrovia, San Dimas, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, Upland, Altadena, La Crescenta, Montrose, Atwater Village, and Sunland-Tujunga.
