Pasadena Police officers arrested an 18-year-old man from Baldwin Park after allegedly admitting owning and possessing a loaded gun while at the La Pistoresca Park on E. Washington Blvd. in Pasadena Wednesday night.
Police Lt. John Luna said they first received a call about a man with a loaded handgun at the park at about 6:36 p.m. and dispatched officers to the scene.
When the first officer arrived, the group started to disperse and two subjects matching the description were checked for weapons, Luna said. During the investigation, an informant provided police dispatch the whereabouts of the firearm. The firearm was in the possession of a female carrying a toddler. As officers contacted the female, the suspect admitted the firearm belonged to him.
Luna said the suspect, later identified as Everett Johnson, was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm and was booked at the city jail.
