Police investigate the scene of a shooting at Villa Parke in Pasadena that left two men dead and another wounded on Dec. 1, 2020.

Prosecutors filed a case Tuesday against a Pasadena man accused of killing two men and seriously wounding a third in a shooting at Pasadena’s Villa Parke in December, authorities have announced.

Christopher Paul Hall, who turned 21 on Wednesday, faces two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, according to Pasadena Police Department officials and Los Angeles County Superior Court records.

The deadly attack took place about 3 p.m. on Dec. 1 as the victims sat on a bench in the northeast portion park, police said at the time.

Christino Medellin Avila, 51, and Aaron Perez Flores, 40, both of Pasadena, were killed, according to police and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner officials. A third man was badly wounded by the gunfire but survived his injuries.

“Preliminary investigation revealed the victims were at a park bench in the northeast portion of the park when the suspect(s) fired upon them and fled in a vehicle, possibly described as a dark-colored sedan,” police said in a written statement.

Police sought help from the public as the investigation continued in the following months, including distributing a photo of a possible suspect vehicle.

Detectives ultimately identified Hall as a suspect in the triple shooting and set out to arrest him on May 20 with help from a U.S. Marshals fugitive task force, police said. Evidence was also seized during a series of search warrants carried out the same day.

Investigators believe there are other suspects involved in the shooting who remain at large, but had no leads on their identities, Lt. Carolyn Gordon said.

Anyone with information was urged to contact Pasadena police at (626) 744-4501. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.

Hall was scheduled to appear in the Pasadena branch of Los Angeles County Superior Court to enter a plea on Tuesday.

Bail was set at $5.155 million, records show.

Hall’s twin brother, Christian Isiah Hall, was also arrested on May 20 in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in Monrovia on March 29, according to police and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials.

Christian Hall, along with Tanaj Johnson, 22, of Pasadena, and a 17-year-old boy, are accused of gunning down 25-year-old Darione Tyrell Jones, 25, of Arcadia on the porch of a home in the 100 block of East Los Angeles Avenue, according to Lt. Brandon Dean of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau. A dog was also killed in the shooting.

Johnson is also accused of shooting and seriously wounding a 10-year-old boy as he played in front of his home near Villa Parke on Valentine’s Day, along with co-defendant Joseph Knowles, 21, of Altadena, according to officials and court records.
