Pasadena Transit will be rolling out bus schedule changes starting on Sunday, July 3, to account for changes in travel time and ridership likely related to factors fluctuating from the economy and the receding pandemic.
The municipal bus service will also reduce service frequencies on two routes due to a shortage of transit drivers, Pasadena Transportation Director Laura Rubio-Cornejo said in a report to the City Manager.
The scheduling changes will ensure that transit service continues to be consistent and on time, Rubio-Cornejo said.
Starting July 3, trips will be every 30 minutes on Route 10 every weekday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Route 20, buses will be every 22 minutes on weekdays.
There will also be minor service changes on Route 31/32. These will be posted on the Pasadena Transit webpage, www.cityofpasadena.net/
A demonstration project on Route H is ending on Sunday, June 26, Pasadena Transit announced.
To protect drivers and bus operators, Pasadena Transit will also continue to implement COVID-19 measures, such as disinfecting high touch surfaces on buses daily, enhanced nightly disinfecting of every bus surface from floor to ceiling, providing single use masks on buses for riders, and keeping hand sanitizing dispensers on every bus.
Face coverings are still required while on board a Pasadena Transit vehicle.

So after the mssive and incompetently planned curs to MTA bus and rail services that have cost a half a million daily riders, the Pasadena Transportation Department is also cutting service levels with longer wait times to discourage and drive off even more riders, right? Heckuva an incompetent job at providing frequent convenient “first world” quality transit services to Pasadena. So, how are all of the folks int the “Transit Oriented Development” with the lack of parking supposed to actually take the increasingly poor transit we are failiing to provide? Incompetence and lame excuses are the main product I seem to see from MTA and f4om the City of Pasadena Transit program when it comes to providing a truly first world transit service that folks could really use.
These headways are moving in the wrong direction. I already don’t take the 20 on weekends because the 30 minute wait isn’t worth the time. With weekday service getting close to that as well now, I might as well drive during the week too. And that’s how you get a ridership death spiral, and more traffic!
