Grants to Fund Programs and Services for Older Adults Awarded by Rotary Club of Pasadena Foundation

The Rotary Club of Pasadena Foundation recently awarded grants that range from $2,000 to $6,000 to organizations that provide programs and services that enrich the lives of older adults.

Several organizations submitted grant proposals for programs and services that address food insecurity, encourage exercise, educate about health practices and offer food planning and preparation. Others provide direct services such as blood pressure checks, dental examinations, flu shots, physical examinations and hearing tests.

The 12 grant recipients are Armenian Relief Society Western USA, Cancer Support Community of Pasadena, Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare), Convalescent Aid Society, HEAR Center, Heritage Clinic’s Community Assistance Program for Seniors, Makoto Taiko, Monte Vista Grove Homes, Pasadena Meals on Wheels, Pasadena Senior Center, Pasadena Village and Villa Esperanza Services.

For 103 years Rotary Club of Pasadena has been the largest community service organization in the San Gabriel Valley. Through dozens of committees, its more than 200 business and professional members continue to fulfill the mission of building goodwill and peace, providing humanitarian services and encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations.

The grants will be presented at a Rotary meeting on April 5.

This meeting is open to the public, and anyone who wishes to attend can do so either in person or online. There is a $40 cost for those who wish to attend in person, and an RSVP must be submitted to the office of the Pasadena Rotary Club at office@pasadenarotary.com. The fee includes lunch for those attending the in-person meeting.

The meeting will begin at 12:15 pm, with the program starting at 12:45 pm.
