Man Arrested in Fatal Hit and Run Collision Which Killed a Pasadena Woman on Sunday

Police have arrested a suspect in the fatal hit and run killing of Jessica Torres, 27, of Pasadena on Sunday night.

Police said they arrested 24-year-old Pasadena resident Francisco Javier Soto Cedillo in the 800 block of N. Oakland Avenue.

Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said the suspect vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder, was also recovered from the suspect’s home. When it was found it  had damage to the front section consistent with the collision, police said.

Cedillo was booked in the Pasadena City Jail for vehicular manslaughter, felony hit and run, and an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He is being held on $85,000 bail.

Pasadena Police and Fire Department personnel responding to the 1100 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue on Sunday at about 7:20 p.m. regarding a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle found Torres suffering from major injuries.

Paramedics personnel were unable to revive Torres, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
