A 37-year-old Altadena man was arrested Monday after he allegedly threw rocks and shattered windows at four Pasadena homes, police reported.
Kirk Alexander allegedly broke a large living room window at a home in the 600 block of Jackson Street at about 6:23 a.m. causing an estimated $1,000 worth of damage to that home, authorities said.
The 73-year-old homeowner reported hearing a loud noise and finding her window smashed according to Lieutenant Edgar Sanchez. Officers reportedly located two large rocks inside the victim’s home.
Sanchez said that while officers were investigating, dispatchers received reports of three other homes that had windows smashed by thrown rocks within a short period of time. The additional vandalisms occurred in the 1300 block of Mentor Avenue, 1100 block of Palm Terrace, and 900 block of Rio Grande Street between 6:30 a.m. and 6:43 a.m.
Officers suspected the same perpetrator due to the pattern and timeframe, according to Sanchez.
After obtaining a neighbor’s surveillance video that allegedly showed Alexander throwing rocks and breaking the victim’s window on Jackson Street, officers found Alexander driving nearby, pulled him over and arrested him without incident, Sanchez said.
Alexander denied involvement in the vandalism incidents. Lieutenant Sanchez reported Alexander may be linked to over 20 previous rock-throwing incidents.
The case remains under investigation.
