The results of the Altadena Town Council election are out.

Chris O’Malley, this year’s chair of the Altadena Election Committee told Pasadena Now over 400 votes were cast for the census tract representatives during the two-day voting that transpired on November 2 and 6.

Each year, eight of the 16 seats of the council are up for reelection. But O’Malley said no candidate ran in one census tract. The council will hold a special election for that seat in the coming months.

O’Malley named seven winners out of the 12 candidates who ran for a council seat. They are:

CT 4601 Victoria Knapp
CT 4603.01 Dorothy Wong
CT 4603.02 Sandra Thomas
CT 4610 Veronica Jones
CT 4611 Madalyn Barber
CT 4612 Reggie Wilkins
CT 4613 Sylvia Vega

The new officials will serve for two years, according to O’Malley.

The Altadena Town Council is a volunteer organization, which works as an advisory body to supervisor Kathryn Barger’s office.

O’Malley said council’s primary job is to solicit feedback from members of the community affected by policies being implemented by the county.

Most of the business of the council is run through the land use committee, which is its only standing committee, according to O’Malley.
