A man brandishing a pistol confronted a store clerk in the Walgreens on South Lake Avenue near Del Mar Blvd. about 8:36 p.m. Monday and demanded cash, police said.
“He took cash from the cash drawer tray and tried to get cash from the register, but was unsuccessful,” Lt. Sean Dawkins reported.
The robber then walked out of the store and drive away in a silver two-door sedan, Dawkins said. The car was seen heading south on Mentor Ave. and turning onto San Pasqual Street, Dawkins said.
The suspect remains at large. The clerk was uninjured.
Dawkins said the loss was approximately $250.
