The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded Pasadena-based Tetra Tech, Inc. a new $34 million single-award contract under the agency’s global Integrated Land and Resource Governance II project.
The contract aims to advance sustainable economic development by enhancing land rights governance.
Tetra Tech’s role will involve the development and implementation of land and property rights policies within the framework of the project. A Tetra Tech statement said the primary objectives of the project include the protection of ecosystems, promotion of private sector investments, and ensuring benefits for vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on securing women’s rights.
According to the contract, the company’s technical specialists will utilize data-driven research, implement conflict mitigation tools, and leverage innovative technology to document land rights in rural and remote areas.
