Green Dot Names VP to Oversee New Banking Service

Pasadena-based Green Dot Corporation on Monday announced the appointment of a new executive to head the company’s recently launched mobile banking services.

Amit Parikh has been named executive vice president of Green Dot’s “Banking as a Service” division, the company said in a written statement. The new mobile banking service was announced last month.

Parikh will report to Green Dot President and CEO Dan Henry.

“Green Dot is a financial technology pioneer known for enabling payments and banking solutions for some of the most innovative and respected brands in the world,” Parikh said. “The company’s unique collection of assets coupled with the growing demand for seamless banking and payments solutions present tremendous opportunity for the business, and I am thrilled to be a part of this journey.”

Parikh most recently worked on Apple’s “Apple Pay” business,” according to Green Dot. Previously, he spent 13 years at Discover Financial Services, becoming vice president of Global Business Development.

Parikh’s experience and skill set made him the ideal candidate, according to Henry.
