Pasadena’s Hearing Officer will hold public hearings Wednesday, March 3, to solicit public input on at least four regular cases that are now under consideration as part of the city’s project approval process.

At 130 W. Howard St. and 1556 Navarro Ave. in Council District 1, the applicant is seeking approval for a minor variance to allow a 25-foot front yard setback, where a minimum 44-feet and 1-inch is required, and a tentative parcel map to allow the creation of two air parcels for residential condominium purposes.

The Planning and Community Development Department is recommending approval of both applications with conditions, which will be explained at the hearing.

At 199 S. Los Robles Ave., a conditional use permit (CUP) is being sought to allow the on-site and off-site sale of limited alcohol (beer and wine), in conjunction with the operation of a restaurant, Cordova Café and Bottleshop, located on the site. A separate CUP is being sought to allow a walk-up window in conjunction with the restaurant.

At 127-141 N. Madison Ave., in Council District 3, the applicant is seeking approval for a vesting tentative tract map to consolidate two land lots and create 49 air parcels for residential condominium purposes and one air parcel for commercial condominium purposes on one land lot. The site is located within the CD-3 (Central District Specific Plan, Walnut Housing) zoning district.

Another project to be heard Wednesday is an application for a hillside development permit as well as a private tree removal permit at 534 Lakeview Road in Council District 6. The hillside development permit is required to allow a 720 square-foot first-floor addition and 1,165 square-foot second-floor addition to an existing two-story, 2,466 square-foot single-family residence with an attached 420 square-foot two-car garage. One protected tree on private property is sought to be removed.

The Planning Department is recommending approval of these applications, with conditions.
