Hot, Dry and Windy: Critical Fire Weather Expected This Week

Critical fire weather conditions are expected this week throughout Southern California.

The National Weather Service has forecast hot, dry and windy conditions through Thursday across interior valleys, mountains and deserts, with unseasonably dry fuels.

Temperatures are expected to hover in the low to mid-90s in Pasadena this week before falling to the high 80s for the weekend.

Monday and Tuesday are expected to be the hottest days of the week.

Humidity levels will fall to between 7% and 20% across interior areas Sunday, then between 5% and 15% on Monday. Onshore winds are also expected to become more widespread, with gusts generally between 20 and 35 mph each afternoon and evening, with isolated gusts to 40 mph near Antelope Valley
foothills.

Similar conditions will potentially continue Tuesday into Thursday, forecasters said.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 66. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 64. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Light southwest wind becoming west southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 65.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 63.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 87.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 62.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 87.
