Hot Weather Continues, But Possible Thunderstorms and Light Rain Could Be Ahead

Above normal temperatures continue today in Pasadena under clear, dry skies with the mercury likely to top out at 96. Monday is expected to be similar but 92.

Ultraviolet index levels in the Los Angeles area will be high on both days. The National Weather Service the UV level Sunday will be 11, which means a fair-skinned person could suffer sunburn in about four minutes if not protected. Ultraviolet radiation is blamed for a host of health problems, including skin cancer and cataracts.

The week ahead will cool and between Tuesday and Thursday, a humid and showery weather pattern could develop as monsoonal moisture moves over the region.

Tuesday and Wednesday will see a 20% chance of showers and thunder after 11 a.m., as will Thursday but to a lesser degree. The high temperatures will fall to the mid-80s.

Friday is expected to be sunny and 85.
