La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s (LCPC) Parent Education is excited to announce a new class! Beginning Wednesday, November 4th, LCPC Parent Ed will be starting a NEW Older Babies Class with instructor Daniela Kim and Teacher’s Assistant Jana Vane Dyck. This class is for parents with babies ages 9 to 15 months old.

The class will meet IN-PERSON at the Rose Bowl from 9:30- 11:00 a.m.

Parents and children participate together while parents glean relevant parenting information through discussion and hand-outs and also gain peer support and special friendships. Some of the topics that will be discussed include: sleep issues, nutrition, separation issues, discipline, and co-parenting. The class will meet weekly at the Rose Bowl using blankets and strollers to maintain social distancing. Daniela will also call participants periodically to provide individualized support! In order to be compliant with county regulations when meeting in person, LCPC Parent Ed ask all participants comply with the following guidelines.

• Masks must be worn by anyone over the age of 2.
• Social distancing practiced by children and parents. Parents are responsible for maintaining children’s physical distancing.
• Community food and drink will not be offered; participants may bring their own food and drink.

About the Instructor:

Daniela Kim has been a member of the LCPC Parent Ed program since 2008. She has been married to her husband, Daniel Kim, for 14 years and they have four children ages 6 to 13 years old. She graduated from CSUN with a child development degree and is thrilled to be a part of the Parent Ed staff. She says “Parent Ed continues to teach me to be a better mom and I can’t thank this program enough for what it has done for me and my family.”

Looking for more Class Opportunities? Parent Education recently launched a customized mix of IN-PERSON outdoor classes and VIRTUAL classes! Due to Covid, Parent Ed has customized each class to ensure participants will still receive the same quality education they have come to expect from LCPC Parent Education. Last year, Parent Education attracted over 600 parents and children from 22 different cities!

Due to new ZOOM options, parents can now join LCPC Ed classes long distance–even from other states!
