Police arrested a man who they say severely beat a man twice his age during a dispute over parking outside a Home Depot store in Pasadena on Sunday afternoon.
Nicholas John Gomez, 30, of Pasadena was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following the alleged attack, which took place shortly before 5 p.m. at the home improvement store, 2881 E. Walnut St. according to Pasadena police officials and Los Angeles County booking records.
The victim, described as a man in his 60s, and Gomez were both at the business when they began to argue about parking, he said.
According to witnesses, Gomez repeatedly punched and kicked the victim, resulting in numerous facial injuries and a broken ankle, according to Dawkins. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Officers soon found and arrested Gomez with help from witnesses, who provided police with his license plate number, the lieutenant said.
Bail for Gomez was set at $30,000 pending his initial court appearance, which was yet to be scheduled Monday, records show.

Never an excuse for that kind of violent behavior but one thing is for sure, parking at the new Home Depo is a joke. Whoever designed or OKed the entrance/exit off Walnut should be fired. One lane going in and out without a separate left or right turn lane. Stupid beyond belief. I hope your paper does a story regarding this deliberate design to impede traffic.
