Man Arrested in Stabbing Death of Homeless Man in Pasadena

A 26-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a homeless man to death in Pasadena, authorities said Saturday.

Officers were sent to the 600 block of North Lake Avenue regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call at 10:55 p.m. Friday. They found the victim in the street suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to Lt. Keith Gomez of the Pasadena Police Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Gomez said.

He was identified as Alex Dominguez, a 43-year-old homeless man, according to the coroner’s office.

Officers detained Sadarius Lawson within a few minutes of the original call and a short distance from the crime scene, he said. Lawson was booked at the Pasadena Police Department on suspicion of murder.

Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery / Homicide Unit responded to the crime scene to commence immediate follow-up investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

The motive behind the crime is unknown at this time.
