Mary Falkingham, Local Floral Designer, Dies at 79

Mary Jeannette Falkingham, a well-known local floral designer and owner of Mary Falkingham Floral Designs, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2024. She was 79.

Her passing was announced on Facebook and by the Altadena Chamber of Commerce.

Falkingham’s Altadena floral business was known for creating beautiful, unique and custom floral arrangements.

Over the years, Falkingham’s designs graced countless private and public functions, including the Altadena Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards and dinner celebrations.

Born on December 13, 1944, Falkingham left an indelible mark on the community of Altadena and the floral design industry. Her sudden departure has left friends, family, and members of the community in mourning.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. Those wishing to express a comment or recall a memory to be shared at her service are requested to send their comments to Melanie Arms at 7040 La Presa Dr., San Gabriel, CA 91775.

The family requests that their privacy be respected during this difficult time and asks for thoughts and prayers.

“Mary’s spirit is now at peace in the eternal embrace of the Lord,” said Judy Matthews, President of the Altadena Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association. “She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.”
