Pasadena-based Parsons has been awarded a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Ballistic Missile Defense System Engineering and Integration (BMD SE&I) contract as a member of an international team led by Leidos. The single-award, firm-fixed-price contract has a 4-year base period of performance, two 1-year options plus one 7-month option, and a total contract value of $77 million if all options are exercised.

“Parsons is pleased to be awarded the NATO BMD SE&I contract as a member of the Leidos team,” stated Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons Group President. “We look forward to providing expert technical support to NATO as it develops its strategic BMD capability.”

The purpose of this NATO BMD SE&I contract is to procure the technical expertise to execute the tasks and produce the associated deliverables necessary to support the NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency’s BMD Programme Office in achieving and delivering a NATO Ballistic Missile Defense capability.

The NATO capability will be composed of NATO Command, Control and Communications (C3) Systems components and the NATO sensors and National Missile defense sensors, interceptor, and C3 systems, which are expected to be provided by the NATO nations and that will be linked to NATO Battle Management, Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (BMC3I).

Parsons’ role on the Leidos team will be to support integration and testing activities conducted in the Integration Test Bed (ITB) in NCI Agency facilities in The Hague in the Netherlands. Parsons personnel will perform test preparation and test execution activities for critical risk reduction, integration, verification, and operational test events. Parsons will also support the ITB Enhancement effort, building threat injection and scenario preparation software and integrating this software into the Enhanced ITB.

Parsons will make extensive use of JEDA/LEON prototypes to support requirements enrichment and requirements validation using innovative SOA-based prototyping technologies within the enhanced ITB to support system verification.
