Pasadena Police Add Extra Security Measures To Large-Scale Events

The recent terrorist bombing in Boston has prompted public inquiries into security measures for similar large crowd events being held in Pasadena.

Although there have not been any threats towards the City of Pasadena, or any specific venue, the Pasadena Police Department’s Event Planning Section and Counterterrorism Unit have worked diligently with other city departments to produce a comprehensive action plan for each event, authorities say.

The plans include, but are not limited to, crowd control measures, emergency response, and evacuation plans. Additionally, we were in on-going communication with State and Federal law enforcement partners with information and resource sharing.

“Our policing philosophy has always been to be proactive and to engage our citizens to assist with our policing effort. We will continue to ask the public’s help in being vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity to the Police Department,” stated Chief of Police Phillip L. Sanchez.

Remember, “See Something, Say Something” is an instrumental component in working to keep our community safe every day.
