Pasadena Senior Center Reopens With Limited Modified Services

The Pasadena Senior has reopened three of its rooms for the first time since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The Sy Graff Fitness Center, the library and the computer lab are now back in operation, according to a statement released on Thursday.

The center, located at 85 E. Holly St., is now open for additional, modified services with occupancy limits. Every person who enters the center is subject to temperature screening at the door, is required to use hand sanitizer made available near the entrance, and must complete a brief health questionnaire.

The fitness center is open by appointment only with a limit of two people per one-hour block to allow for social distancing. Appointments may be made on a first-come, first-served basis by calling (626) 795-4331. Each person will be required to complete a brief health questionnaire before appointments are confirmed.

Fans have been removed to prevent the spread of droplets as recommended by the Pasadena Public Health Department. Masks are required at all times. All equipment and major touch points are sanitized after each use.

The library is open for the purchase of books and puzzles only.
The computer lab is open by appointment only for a maximum of two hours, with two people allowed in at a time to allow for social distancing, with time limits monitored by volunteers at the Welcome Desk at time of entry.

Computer screens, keyboards and countertops are sanitized after each appointment.

Since the beginning of lockdown restrictions related to COVID-19, the Pasadena Senior Center has been open only for social services and other critical services for older adults in need. Nearly all activities and events have been offered via Zoom.
