The Pasadena City College lefty hitter duo of sophomore first baseman Joe Quire and freshman designated hitter Jeremy Conant were named to the All-South Coast Conference Baseball First Team by conference coaches.

It is the first time a PCC baseball player made the SCC First Team in four years, and the first time since 2003 that two Lancers were chosen to the First Team. That year, the selections were current MLB player and Minnesota Twins pitcher Brandon Kintzler and second baseman Joey Dyche, who played three years in the San Francisco Giants organization.

With the selections based on the statistics in the 21-game conference schedule, Quire was the South Coast leader in slugging percentage (.614) as he batted .400 with one home run, eight doubles, two triples and 15 RBI. Conant batted .351 with three home runs and 15 RBI.

Quire, a two-year starter from Bonita High, led the team in many overall statistical categories. Conant, from Alta Loma High, was fifth in the state in hits with 61.

The Lancers had no All-SCC Second Team selections. PCC is coached by Pat McGee, who finished his second season in charge of the program.
