A pedestrian was struck by a car in the area of Orange Grove Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue Wednesday night shortly before 7 p.m., police said.
Officers called the scene by witnesses found an unconscious man down in the street and very serious condition, according to Pasadena police Lt. Rudy Lemos.
The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries but was reported deceased shortly after his arrival, Lemos said.
First reports described the incident as a “hit and run” collision, but the car’s driver apparently simply had driven to the closest safe parking spot before pulling over and had not actually fled the scene.
Officers found the car and driver a short distance away.
He was arrested for driving without a license, Lemos said.
There is currently no information available on the identity of the victim.
The Pasadena Police Department’s traffic section is investigating the incident. It does not currently appear that alcohol played a role in the collision.

Drive, bicycle, and walk at that intersection all the time, and am always very careful- folks often run that light. So sorry for the man who lost his life. Perhaps it’s time for a camera to locate & harshly fine those who do so.
rip cousin!!!
Speak his name and may justice be serviced !!!
