On Friday, July 8 at about 4:30 am, South Pasadena police officers responded to the area of Hermosa Place and Hermosa Avenue to assist California Highway Patrol officers at the termination of a vehicle pursuit.

The suspect, who fled on foot, was wanted for burglarizing a business in the City of South Gate and trying to run down responding officers with his vehicle.

CHP officers took a passenger into custody immediately.

A large perimeter was set up and officers from Pasadena, Alhambra and South Gate Police also responded to assist.

Just as the search got underway, search teams found the suspect hiding in a backyard in the 400 Block of Hermosa Place and he was taken into custody without incident.

At this time, all lanes of traffic have been reopened.
