Police Seek Leads in Murder of Man Set on Fire in Pasadena

Police are asking for the public’s help in a homicide case that resulted from the victim being set on fire.

On January 1, 2021, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Pasadena police officers responded to the 700 block of Rockwood Road in the area of the La Loma Road bridge regarding a “man down” call.

Upon  arrival, officers located 30-year old Ulises Edenilson Nieto-Cabrera bloodied and suffering from severe  burns.

Nieto-Cabrera, a Salvadorian national and Los Angeles resident, was transported to a  local hospital in grave condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery / Homicide Unit have been conducting a follow up investigation since the incident occurred.

The follow-up  investigation revealed Nieto-Cabrera was intentionally targeted and set on fire.

Detectives have acquired new information and know there are people whom possess intimate  knowledge about Nieto-Cabrera’s murder.
