Pasadena police shot a charging dog during a compliance check Tuesday morning.
A local law enforcement task force was conducting a compliance check at a residence in the 1900 block of N. Marengo Avenue when the incident occurred, authorities say.
A Pitt Bull Terrier charged officers and one officer fired several shots, striking the dog. The dog survived and was transported to a local animal hospital.
There were no other injuries.
Detectives responded and conducted an investigation resulting the arrest of  John Pollerana, a 54 year-old Pasadena resident, for a probation violation. He was booked at the city jail.
