Pasadena police officers investigating a residence connected to several burglaries discovered two “cold plated” stolen cars in the driveway Sunday night, authorities said.
Cold plating refers to placing legitimate license plates onto stolen vehicles, to camouflage them from law enforcement.
Officers took two people into custody at the residence, a home in the 2100 block of E. Crary Street near the city border with Altadena.
A consent search of the residence revealed an assault rifle and narcotics, Lt. Pete Hettema said.
The officers also noticed the suspects had lock pick kits and numerous keys, which are indicative of burglary tools, he said.
Taken into custody were Pasadena resident Christopher Conner, 50, and Covina resident Cassandra Peters, 31, according to Hettema.
