Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California Announces Key Leadership Appointments

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California® (RMHCSC) today announced the appointment of a new board chairman and welcomed three new members to its board of directors. After two years on the RMHCSC board, George Ball, chief financial officer and executive vice president at Parsons Corporation, will assume the position of chairman of the board for the charity. The announcement was made alongside the organization’s decision to appoint new members to its board, which include Luc Robitaille, NHL Hall of Famer and president of business operations for the LA Kings, Trish McCarthy, business development leader at The Coca-Cola Company and Bill Gibbons, partner at Davis Elen Advertising. The new appointments are effective immediately.

“I’ve always been inspired by what Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California has been able to do for children and families facing tough situations,” said Ball. “I’m excited to be taking on this new position with the team and look forward to continuing the great work that’s already been done.”

Ball joined Parsons Corporation – an engineering, construction, technical and professional services company – in 1995 and assumed his current position in 2008. He became involved with RMHCSC in 2011 when he joined its board of directors. Robitaille played 19 seasons in the NHL and holds the record as the highest-scoring left wing in league history. After spending a majority of his career with the LA Kings, he retired in 2006 and has since served as the team’s president of business operations. Trish McCarthy has been working closely with RMHCSC for seventeen years through her position at The Coca-Cola Company. She has supported each of the Ronald McDonald Houses and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, dedicating time, talent and resources to support fundraising efforts throughout Southern California. Bill Gibbons is a partner at the Los Angeles advertising agency, Davis Elen, and previously served on the board of trustees for the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House.

RMHCSC manages several prominent Southern California programs including six Ronald McDonald Houses, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Camp Ronald McDonald For Good Times®, a Community Grants Board and four college scholarship programs.
