A box-style semi-truck went off the westbound I-210 Foothill freeway west of Sierra Madre Boulevard and ended up overturned on Metro Gold Line light rail tracks just be 4:30 a.m. Monday.

The driver suffered only minor injuries, authorities said.

Arriving Pasadena Fire Dept. units advised Metro’s rail operations center to shut down all rail traffic, according to authorities.

Metro subsequently announced that there was no train service between Sierra Madre Station and Allen Avenue and told riders to use bus shuttles or consider Metro Micro.

A spokesperson for the Pasadena Fire Dept. said that after firefighters determined that the truck was hauling bulk packages from an internet commerce companythat contained nothing hazardous, they cleared from the scene.

As of 6:30 a.m., westbound traffic was backed up to the Huntington Drive overpass in Monrovia, according to the Sigalert website.
