[UPDATED] As the city gears up for the Nov. 3 election, vote by mail drop boxes have been installed at City Hall, and Brookside, Grant, Victory, and Washington parks.

More Californians than ever are expected to cast their ballots by mail and vote earlier than ever in the 2020 election. Today is the deadline for California counties to send ballots out by Monday, so expect to receive a ballot in the next few days.

According to LAvote.net, there will be more than 400 secure drop boxes located throughout Los Angeles County.

It was not immediately known whether security measures would be initiated at each box.

The Pasadena Vote Center will be used as a voter starting on Oct. 30. Voters can drop off ballots there once the vote center opens at that location.

“We are proud to partner with the county of Los Angeles and the city of Pasadena to make voting accessible in the city of Pasadena.” said Michael Ross, CEO of Pasadena Center Operating Co. “Establishing the Pasadena Convention Center as a vote center is part of our ongoing commitment to serve our community.”

“The Pasadena Convention Center is pleased to provide a safe and convenient voting location,” said Naz Sabripour, executive director of the Pasadena Convention Center.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office worked with Pasadena’s City Clerk to determine convenient and accessible locations for the boxes. The county Registrar will service and maintain the boxes daily.

Residents will have the opportunity to vote in-person at the Pasadena Convention Center from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.

The Voting Center will be open for a five-day period from Friday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 All LA County registered voters are eligible to vote at the Pasadena Convention Center.

The Voting Center will follow state and county public health and safety guidance.

All election workers at the Voting Center will wear facial coverings, gloves, and wipe down surfaces and devices on a regular basis. Voting stations will be wiped down after each use. People who vote in-person will be required to wear a facial covering, and if needed, facial coverings and gloves will be provided.

The deadline to register to vote is Monday, Oct. 19.
