Creative Arts Media (CAMAD), Visual Arts & Design Academy (VADA) and Graphic Communications Academy (GCA) Honor Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day
Over the last two months Creative Arts Media and Design (CAMAD) Sophomores from both the Visual Art and Design Academy (VADA) and the Graphic Communications Academy (GCA) have worked on their spring integrated project which honors the survivors of the horrific events of 1915. In social studies they researched the Historical Background, in english they read survivor stories and wrote haikus and in their visual art or graphics courses they created portraits, symbols, and illustrated the Armenian alphabet.
The product of their work is on view in an installation that spans more than 60 feet along the gate at the Washington Blvd north entrance to Pasadena High School to honor the survivors. These photos do not do the work justice, you should see it in person, read the haikus, and reflect on the history of these resilient people. The installation will remain up for 2 weeks.
