Spring 2021 Return to School Survey

In anticipation of the reopening of PUSD campuses, parents/guardians will need to select one of two educational options. Responses are due November 22.

Dear Pasadena parents and families,

While we are anticipating that January 11 is the earliest day that we can reopen campuses, we are actively planning to welcome students to school in person. On-line learning will begin January 4, 2021 in an asynchronous format.

PUSD is currently testing a simultaneous model of teaching and learning to ensure that students stay with their current teachers and classmates while maintaining the continuity and quality of educational programs. Learn more about the Simultaneous Learning Model: watch a video, read a Fact Sheet (download PDF), and consult the survey’s Frequently Asked Questions. More information.

Before we return to campuses, parents/guardians must choose one of the following options for simultaneous learning for Spring 2021. These options have been revised and updated since our original survey in July.
1. Return to on-campus, in-person learning as early as January 11, or
2. Stay online in distance learning with their same teacher and classmates

Watch the video or read the Fact Sheet, and review the Frequently Asked Questions for descriptions of these options. We encourage you to review the options carefully before making your decision.

The survey is open November 2 – 22, 2020. Families will have three weeks to carefully consider their decision and to send back their reply. All decisions will need to be submitted electronically no later than November 22. For help completing the survey, please contact your school office, the PUSD Family Engagement office at 626.396.3600 ext: 88191, or the PUSD Family Hotline at 626.396.3680

Because we must plan by committing to teachers and other personnel and by purchasing appropriate supplies, your decision on the survey is binding and applies to the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year, which ends June 3, 2021.
