A Community United in Thanksgiving at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy

Gratitude filled the Hill today as the Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy community gathered for its annual Gratitude Liturgy. In the spirit of the Eucharist — which literally means “thanksgiving” — students shared the many blessings they are grateful for, while Thea Bowman Scholars Leah ’28 and Brooke ’29 offered thoughtful reflections ahead of Thanksgiving Break. The community also celebrated the school’s newly commissioned Student Eucharistic Ministers as they received their pins, a meaningful reminder that gratitude deepens through acts of service. During the liturgy, the school highlighted Operation Gratitude, an extraordinary organization founded after one woman felt profound gratitude when her parents were delayed in the subway on 9/11. What began as a single moment of thankfulness grew into a mission to send care packages to Deployed Troops, Veterans, and First Responders. As the week comes to a close, the Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy community is reminded to pause, give thanks for the many gifts in their lives, and allow that gratitude to inspire service toward others.
