A Stellar Evening at Sequoyah High School’s Back to School Night

Sequoyah School’s High School Back to School Night welcomed parents to connect with teachers and administrators, explore the campus, and gain a firsthand look at the exciting year ahead. A highlight of the evening was an SAS Astrophysics demonstration by physics teacher Gregory Harrison, who cleverly used a potato to simulate asteroid rotations and explain light curve graphs – a technique astronomers use when searching for exoplanets. The evening also offered parents the chance to see Sequoyah’s unique, hands-on learning approach in action. The school community was especially grateful to alumni Ada Argueta ’22 and Michelle Sifuentes ’25 for joining and sharing in the night’s spirit of discovery. Families left energized and inspired, eager for the academic journey that lies ahead this year.
