Alverno Heights Academy Golfers Shine at CYOLA Fall Tournament, Led by Chase Fisher’s Championship Victory
Jaguar golfers celebrate an individual title, five additional top-20 finishes and a strong showing across multiple divisions
Alverno Heights Academy’s young golfers demonstrated their competitive spirit at the recent CYOLA Fall Golf Tournament, where Chase Fisher captured the A Boys championship with an even-par performance, leading a series of impressive individual finishes for the Sierra Madre school.
Fisher’s championship highlighted a successful outing for the Jaguars, who placed 11th overall in team scoring while recording six individual top-20 finishes across the boys and girls divisions.
Finishing at even par, Fisher delivered the tournament’s standout result for Alverno, claiming the A Boys title and providing a moment of celebration for the school’s growing golf program. His accomplishment was complemented by strong performances from teammates competing in several age divisions.
The Jaguars’ B Girls squad made a particularly strong showing, placing three golfers among the top 20 finishers. Josephine Svanberg led the group with an 11th-place finish, followed by Scottie Jackson in 16th and Raylee Umayam in 18th.
Their collective results reflected the depth of Alverno’s participation, with multiple athletes representing the school competitively in the same division.
In the C Girls division, Luna Madrigal added another top-10 finish to the Jaguars’ tournament results, placing seventh overall. Enzo Palmieri also earned a place among the division’s leading competitors, finishing 10th in C Boys.
Together, the six individual performances contributed to Alverno’s 11th-place finish in the overall team standings, giving the Jaguars accomplishments to celebrate across several competitive categories.
The tournament results also reflect the opportunities available through Alverno Heights Academy’s athletic program, which encourages students to develop their skills, participate in organized competition and embrace the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
At Alverno, golf is among the athletic opportunities introduced to students beginning in third grade. The school’s broader athletic program, available to students in fifth grade and above, includes volleyball, basketball, football, track and cross country, providing opportunities for students to explore different sports as they develop their interests and abilities.
For the Jaguar golfers, the CYOLA Fall Golf Tournament offered another opportunity to put their developing skills into practice while representing their school alongside fellow student-athletes.
From Fisher’s even-par championship performance to the top-10 finishes by Madrigal and Palmieri and the B Girls squad’s three top-20 placements, the results gave the Alverno community plenty of reasons to celebrate.
The school congratulated its student-athletes following the tournament, recognizing their accomplishments and their contributions to the Jaguars’ overall performance.
