Aveson Announces Aaron Gerwer as New Site Director for Aveson Global Leadership Academy

Welcome to Aveson, Aaron Gerwer!

Aaron will join Aveson next fall as the new site director for Aveson Global Leadership Academy. Aaron comes to Aveson with over 20 years’ experience in education, first serving as a teacher and then moving into school leadership for the last 10 years.

He has led several highly diverse schools in the Philadelphia public school system to excellence, most notably establishing a inquiry-based teacher-to-teacher mentorship program, co-designing a weeklong, interdisciplinary community partnership experience for students, securing a $4.5 million dollar partnership from the University of Pennsylvania to implement student centered and community connected education and designing and implementing a full restorative practices model for handling conflicts between students, staff and families. Aaron holds a master’s in education and special education and a master’s in English.

As an educator and school leader, he has spent his career working with diverse communities and staff to change the possibilities and opportunities for families and young people through building human centered systems and programs. We are confident that he will bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and unwavering dedication to our school community.
