Capturing Los Angeles: Southwestern Academy Photography Students Take Learning Beyond the Classroom

Students from Southwestern Academy under the guidance of Mr. Angkasa, recently embarked on an inspiring photography field trip across some of Los Angeles’ most iconic destinations, including the Los Angeles Zoo and the renowned Griffith Observatory. Throughout the excursion, students immersed themselves in hands-on learning, capturing striking images of wildlife and composing sweeping skyline shots that showcased the city’s dynamic beauty.

Applying key photography principles such as composition, lighting, and perspective, students transformed everyday moments into compelling visual stories. Each photograph reflected both technical growth and creative expression, with Los Angeles serving as an ideal and vibrant backdrop for their work. The school community eagerly anticipates seeing the students’ final edited pieces, which promise to highlight both their talent and their unique artistic perspectives.
