Carver Elementary School PTA congratulates Golden Nugget Recipients! The Carver PTA Golden Nugget Awards were established in 1975 to recognize exceptional parents, teachers, and staff who have given outstanding contributions of time and talent to Carver Elementary School. They embody the volunteer spirit that inspires our Carver Community. Please congratulate our amazing 2023-2024 Carver Golden Nugget Award recipients!

Susan Chang – Let’s celebrate this mom of two, who infuses Carver with cheerfulness, reliability, and generosity. As a Curriculum Lab Team Leader for 3rd grade, she’s a valuable member who effortlessly dedicates her time to enhance the Carver community. From managing a boba booth at Carnival to staying till take -down at last year’s event, Susan consistently shows up and also lends a helping hand. Join us in congratulating Susan for her consistent dedication to making Carver shine!

Greg Johansing – Hats off to the driving force behind our outstanding Safety Team at Carver! As the dedicated Safety Committee Leader, Greg has served as both Safety Chair and Walking School Bus Chair. He not only manages the Carver Safety Plan, but also liaises with the San Marino PD and Fire Dept, fostering collaboration with the community to ensure safety for all. Heartfelt congratulations to Greg for his unwavering commitment to our school’s safety!

Billy Lin – This Carver dad consistently steps up to lend a helping hand. Known for his hardworking spirit, he plays a crucial role in the set-up and take-down at various events. He actively supports the Safety Team, directing blacktop parking and keeping a watchful eye alongside the kids during the Friday Walking School Bus. We are fortunate to have him as part of the Carver Family. Congratulations Billy Lin!

Yvonne Mejia (PE Teacher) – Her unwavering dedication and hard work for the children at Carver exemplify the true spirit of our school. An avid supporter of all PTA events, she goes above and beyond to back every program at Carver, even adjusting her PE schedule to make it all possible. Throughout her years of teaching at Carver, she has consistently set a fantastic example for the children to follow. We are truly fortunate to have such an exceptional volunteer and role model in Mrs. Mejia. Congratulations!

Kathy Osegueda (Librarian) – This dedicated mother of three has played a significant role in the Carver community for many years. Although her three sons have graduated, we’re fortunate to have her as a valuable member of our staff. Serving as the unofficial school historian, she welcomes everyone with a warm smile and is always ready to assist with any questions. Despite her busy schedule, she still finds time to contribute to our makerspace. Thank you for always looking to make Carver shine in the community. To our wonderful librarian, congratulations Kathy Osegueda!

Michelle Tang – In her final year at Carver, this devoted mom of two has been a quiet yet incredibly helpful force behind the scenes. Michelle has dedicated her time to various roles, including assisting the Curriculum Lab, serving as a Parent Room Rep, contributing to the Holiday and Spring Programs, and skillfully setting up Lunar New Year game booths. Always ready to lend a hand with a smile, Teri has contributed significantly to our community. Let’s extend a big congratulations to Teri for her outstanding volunteerism and cheerful spirit!

Dione Wu – Always thinking of ways to improve the Carver experience is our very own Dione Wu. Though she may be quiet and calm, her impact is mighty. Dione’s contributions span across various roles, from the Safety Committee to the Executive Board as Historian and Curriculum Lab Leader, even extending to Makerspace volunteer and chairing last year’s Spring Concert. We are immensely grateful for everything you do for Carver. Congratulations Dione Wu!
