Chandler Middle School Debate Scores at LILA

Chandler competed successfully at the December debate tournament at Los Angeles International School as they discussed the harms and benefits of social media and desalination in California.

There were six schools represented, 32 teams, and 96 speakers. Chandler fielded five teams (6th-8th) with various abilities from beginner to experienced.

10th – Victoria Dai, Sophie Kahng, and Elaine Liu
5th – Jacob Waxman, Gabriel Shaw, and Kenny Wang
3rd – Adrishya Kumar, Anais Escudero, and Larry Lu

It was remarked by the Polytechnic coach that one of Adrishya’s speeches was “probably the best we’re going to see at this tournament.”

Chandler placed 2nd overall for the number of wins AND percentage of wins.
