Desert Discovery: Southwestern Academy’s Outdoor Education Adventure

Students from Southwestern Academy embarked on an unforgettable camping trip to Death Valley alongside Mr. Bird and Mr. Angkasa as part of the school’s Outdoor Education program. From epic hikes through breathtaking landscapes to unplugging and truly connecting with nature, the experience offered a perfect blend of adventure and reflection. Evenings were just as meaningful, as students gathered around the campfire to share stories, make s’mores, and stargaze beneath one of the clearest night skies imaginable. Moments like these build friendships, create lifelong memories, and highlight the value of learning beyond the classroom. The trip also encouraged students to develop independence and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
