Enjoy Music in the Garden at The Gooden School on Sept. 27

For those who have heard about The Gooden School, and would like a closer look, the opportunity is at hand. Parents throughout the San Gabriel Valley community are invited to enjoy “Music in the Garden” featuring The Pasadena Symphony and Pops’ string quartet and harpist, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Friday, September 27, on the beautiful campus of The Gooden School, 192 N. Baldwin Avenue, in Sierra Madre.

The public event featuring music, wine and cheese provides a special chance for parents to stroll the grounds of Gooden, an independent Episcopal school, K – 8, in Sierra Madre. Faculty, staff and parents of Gooden students will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about the school.

“Music in the Garden” is the perfect opportunity for parents to discover the campus for themselves, in an informal setting – where academics and the arts come together,” said Patty Patano, Head of School. “And we’re delighted to team up with The Pasadena Symphony and Pops for this event, and others in the future. Together, Gooden and The Pasadena Symphony and Pops celebrate music and the arts, education and our community.”

Paul Jan Zdunek,
CEO of the Pasadena Symphony and POPS, noted, “We have seen the power of music throughout history, including Albert Einstein who used his violin to work on challenging formulas. We believe whole heartedly that music nourishes the mind, body and spirit of an individual and enriches the community, so we are extremely pleased to be partnering with The Gooden School who believes in the same power of the arts.”

Founded in 1975, The Gooden School offers a classical education for the 21st century. Gooden students of all grade levels learn to play musical instruments. The string program begins in third grade, and Middle School students perform in the Gooden orchestra or band. Reflecting Gooden’s high academic standards, reputation for the arts and service learning, graduates are accepted by many of the finest independent high schools in the area including Campbell Hall, Flintridge Prep, Loyola, St. Francis, Mayfield Sr. and Westridge.

RSVP’s for “Music in the Garden” are appreciated. Please call Angie Jacinto at (626) 355-2410, ext. 10. For more information about the Gooden School, visit www.goodenschool.org.
