Flintridge Prep Explores Inclusive Learning at the Pollyanna Conference

Flintridge Prep trustees, alumni, faculty, administrators, parents, and students represented our school at the 9th Annual Pollyanna Conference held at Harvard-Westlake this weekend. The mission of Pollyanna is to create a platform where groups can explore diversity, inclusion, and equity, and share ideas, experiences, and knowledge to become change agents in their immediate communities.

This year’s theme was “Minds of All Kinds: Inclusive Learning, Limitless Possibilities,” and attendees shared insights about celebrating and supporting neurodiversity. Student Camila C. says she learned a lot as a student panel participant as well as through deeper dialogue with the Flintridge Prep pod. “We need to be advocates for our peers so they feel like they belong,” she said.

Head of School Vanessa Walker-Oakes believes participating in the Pollyanna Conference resonates with the school’s institutional commitment and values. “I’m so glad to have been here with so many members of our community to learn, share and collaborate in the spirit of our shared values and mission.”
