Flintridge Prep’s Makerspace Machines are Working Overtime

The machines in Flintridge Preparatory School’s Makerspace are working overtime! Last week, Makerspace Coordinator Erin Thomassen and Drawing and Painting teacher Melissa Manfull partnered up for a laser cut jigsaw puzzle workshop, where students could create two jigsaw puzzles, one for themselves and one to donate to their organization of choice. Students hand-painted wooden boards with unique designs and special messages, and used the laser cutter to carve out their puzzles.

Ms. Thomassen also shared some photos of the 3D printed molds that 7th graders in Design Thinking made. Creating food-safe silicone molds, they then turned their designs into chocolates in the shape of snowmen, stars, their initials, and butterflies.
