Flintridge Sacred Heart Yearbook Editors Earn Theme Achievement Award at Yearbooks at the Beach Program
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) congratulates its Digital Design and Photojournalism: Yearbook students who earned awards during their participation in the five-day intensive @yearbooksathebeach program this summer. Editors Wendy Wang ’23 and Ella Li ’23 (pictured above) earned a Theme Achievement Award in recognition of the theme concept they developed during camp. It was especially exciting recognition for them considering there were over 400 students attending from dozens of schools, many of which have much more established and national award-winning yearbook programs.
Their theme goes beyond just a tagline, and includes goals for the year, a sophisticated theme concept, opening copy, and a coverage plan. Freshman Alexia Alvarez earned an Individual Achievement Award for Marketing & Sales. Seven of FSHA’s yearbook students participated in the virtual program by attending live and recorded sessions covering topics like theme development, reporting, writing, marketing, layout & design, and yearbook basics. They also worked closely with experienced advisers/mentors who helped guide them through the program so they left camp ready to design an incredible yearbook that celebrates the unique student experience on the Hill. FSHA can’t wait to see what they accomplish this year!
