Hands-On Science Demos Teach Young Clairbourn Students How Volcanoes ‘Blow Their Tops’ and Spew Lava



Clairbourn Fourth grade students explored how variations in lava types influence the shapes and eruption patterns of volcanoes. In a science experiment, they compared thin water lava to thick lava made from flour, water, and red food coloring, which helped them understand the connection between lava types, volcano shapes and explosive eruptions.
