Incoming Freshman Griffin Ulrich ’25 is First Annual Jim Bonds Memorial Awardee
St. Francis High School congratulates incoming freshman Griffin Ulrich ’25 on being awarded the 1st Annual Jim Bonds Memorial Award at the Holy Family South Pasadena School Graduation! This award was established to remember Coach Jim Bonds and his legacy as the Head Football Coach at St. Francis High School. He was a true mentor to his players and cared deeply for their success not only on the football field, but in the classroom and more importantly, as young men of faith and character.
The Jim Bonds Memorial Award was established by Kevin & Helena Danni to honor the legacy of St. Francis High School Head Football Coach Jim Bonds who passed away last year after a long battle with cancer. Coach Bonds holds the record for most wins in St. Francis history and coached many Holy Family students over his career. In the words of Mr. Danni, Holy Family Graduate Class of ‘93 and St. Francis Class of ’97, “Coach Bonds was more to his players than a coach, he taught life lessons of team, unity, and commitment.” This is a scholarship given to a young man that will attend St. Francis next year, that shows positive sportsmanship, academic achievement, and will be part of the St. Francis football program.
St. Francis is proud and grateful to Kevin and Helena Danni for their generosity in honoring Coach Bonds!
