Learning through Teaching at Octavia E. Butler Middle School

Every Wednesday after school, 8th-grade Octavia E. Butler Middle School Math Academy students take on the role of teachers, assessing standards and reviewing work from 6th-grade Math Academy students. Peer learning and cross-age tutoring help students deepen their understanding while building leadership, confidence, and critical thinking skills. Through this collaborative approach, both grade levels benefit from meaningful academic support while strengthening a positive and connected Math Academy community.
