Maranatha Girls Volleyball Sweeps Calvary Chapel Downey in 3-0 Victory

Maranatha High School’s varsity girls volleyball team earned a convincing 3-0 victory over Calvary Chapel High School (Downey, CA), sweeping the Grizzlies in a non-league matchup. Maranatha controlled the match from the opening set, winning 25-20 before pulling away for a 25-13 victory in the second. Calvary Chapel/Downey challenged the Minutemen more closely in the third set, but Maranatha held on for a 25-22 win to complete the sweep.

Cheyenne Throop led the way for Maranatha with 10 kills, 16 digs and seven aces, while Kyla Hoffman contributed four digs and two aces. The victory gave the Minutemen a 5-4 overall record and marked their second consecutive win.
